The Lorca Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users learns about the importance of Aquaculture

Through the Strategic Communication Plan for Aquaculture in Spain (PLECA), promoted by the Aquaculture Producers Association (APROMAR), we strive to communicate our essence, our achievements, and our contributions to economic, social, and environmental sustainability — offering sustainable solutions and bringing seafood to every household.

On 15 March, we marked World Consumer Rights Day, which aims to raise awareness of consumer rights around the world, demanding their protection and respect in the face of market abuses.

For this reason, we were very pleased to welcome the Lorca Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users, who were received by our colleagues Juan García, Rosa Raya and Manolo Nicolás.

They were also joined by Mari Carmen Moreno, Mayor of Águilas, and Belén Díaz Arcas, councillor for Health and Consumer Affairs of Lorca.

During the visit, the group had the opportunity to see first-hand how our filleting and packaging plant operates at our headquarters in Águilas (Murcia). Our team explained each step of the process in detail and enthusiastically answered all their questions.

But the experience didn’t end there. On board one of our ship, the visitors sailed across the Bay of Águilas to our Calabarrilla marine farm, where Cooke España specialists gave an informative talk on the value of sustainable Spanish aquaculture.

They learned how we work — always respecting the marine environment and ensuring animal welfare, which are the cornerstones of our commitment.

During the boat trip, they also enjoyed a snack featuring local products, along with a experience the exquisite Mediterranean taste of our unrivaled gourmet sea bass fillet preserves.

It was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen ties with such a wonderful group, share the passion we put into our daily work, and above all, show that we are one big family, committed to our communities.
