At Cooke España, we welcome the announcement from the Regional Government of Andalusia of more than €15 million in new funding to boost fishing and aquaculture between 2025 and 2027.

This support, which is not only strategic for the sector’s growth, also serves as recognition for the daily work of all those who, like our Cooke family, cultivate the sea with responsibility and a long-term vision.

The announcement was made during the visit of the Regional Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, to our facilities on the Almería coastline.

“Aquaculture is a strategic pillar of the sustainable blue economy model promoted by the Government of Juanma Moreno, and represents a great opportunity to continue generating green jobs and economic development along the Andalusian Coast,” the Minister stated during his visit.

New grants for more innovative and sustainable aquaculture

The three new lines of support, co-financed through the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF), represent a direct boost to the sector’s development:

• €10.5 million for processing and marketing projects.
• €2.2 million for productive investments in aquaculture.
• Over €2.5 million for initiatives led by Fisheries and Aquaculture Local Action Groups (GALPAs) across Andalusia.
