“True Fortune”: the New National Campaign for Aquaculture of Spain

On September 1st, the “Aquaculture of Spain: True Fortune” campaign was launched, an initiative promoted by APROMAR. Its goal is to bring aquaculture closer to the public and highlight its essential role in our diet and in the development of our coastal communities.

At Cooke Spain, we’re proud to be part of this campaign, which aims to raise awareness of aquaculture as an essential, innovative, and sustainable activity—one that ensures safe, healthy fish for everyone, while also creating jobs, protecting the environment, and keeping our coastal areas alive.

What would a world without aquaculture look like?

Today, more than half of the fish we consume in Spain comes from aquaculture. Without it, there simply wouldn’t be enough fish for everyone, and something as everyday as sharing a baked sea bass with your family or enjoying a red tuna tataki with friends would become a rare privilege.

Thanks to aquaculture, we can enjoy fresh, nutritious fish all year round.

Aquaculture: true fortune for everyone

This campaign is just the beginning of a path toward greater visibility for a sector that has spent decades working with commitment, respect for the marine environment, and a clear vision for the future. At Cooke Spain, we know this activity well—we’ve been farming the Mediterranean for over 30 years with an integrated approach: from hatchery to packaging, we oversee the entire process to ensure a product of the highest quality and freshness, with full traceability.

True fortune is having a solid, innovative aquaculture industry that’s rooted in its territory. An aquaculture that nourishes not just the world, but also people, families, and communities.
